Here at Sykes Seafoods we are extremely pleased to announce the approval of our Sefton Meadow production facility to BAP accreditation and so becomes Europe’s first and only BAP approved Warm Water Shrimp production facility.
For us at Sykes, we are proud of how this further proves our commitment to a sustainable supply chain. The new Warm Water factory began operations in November of 2015 and is capable of cooking in the region of 80MT’s of finished goods each day.
Sykes Managing Direction, Alan Dale notes: “There are some occasions in our industry that mark considerably important milestones and I consider this to be one of them. To have had both the foresight and commitment to become the first certified Best Aquaculture Practice (BAP) processing plant in Europe is quite an achievement and Sykes should be justly proud.
The facilities at Sykes Seafood Processing will be controlled by our own UK technical teams, ensuring the whole supply chain has our high quality control and standards throughout.
