KING PRAWNS

Latin Name: Pleoticus muelleri / Penaeus vannamei

For Seafood Week Day 4 we decided to feature one of our favourites: Prawns. They are incredibly versatile by being enjoyed hot or cold; in sandwiches, salads, pastas or Seafood Selections. They’re perfect at any time of the day due to being ready to eat or quick to cook.

One of our favourite ways to enjoy King Prawns is on Skewers! It makes for a fun starter or snack and is incredibly quick to prepare, simply follow the five steps below:

  1. Thread desired number Prawns onto each Skewer.
  2. Prepare the accompaniments, we recommend a leaf Salad and Sweet Chilli dressing.
  3. Wrap bottom of Skewers in tinfoil to prevent from burning.
  4. Grill Prawns for 4 minutes on each side, until they turn pink in colour.
  5. Place Skewers on the prepared bed of Salad and drizzle your chosen dressing for extra flavour.
