Sykes’ Manufacturing Facility Opens State of the Art Factory Extension

In November Sykes opened its new state of the art production facility, purpose built and aimed at processing and cooking a range of shellfish lines.

Adjacent to its current high care facility, the new plant has the capability to process in the region of 80 metric tonnes of Raw and Cooked shellfish each day and sets a new benchmark of production facilities within the Seafood industry.

The new plant will be officially opened by an industry stalwart during the coming months and further cements Sykes investment in its UK production facilities and its commitment to an integrated and controlled supply chain.

“The primary aim of the new site is to de-risk seafood purchases for all of our customers, processing in the UK to UK technical standards and expectations is key and offers levels of flexibility, consistency and product safety that we simply cannot replicate from processing at product source” added Dan Wright Sykes Purchasing Director
